Trash & Recycling Pickup Services for Madison Area and Southern Wisconsin

Please see the information below for delays, rescheduling, and general reminders. (Last updated 03/14/26 1:15 p.m.)

Reminder: The best way to get up-to-date notifications is through our app. Mass emails are not sent out for delays in small areas.

    • Residential:  All residential curbside cart collection has been delayed by one-day for the week of 3/16. Friday routes will run on Saturday, just like a holiday. (For large item pick-up and cart swap-outs:  A customer service representative will be in touch about rescheduling.) Please read the rest of the bullet points for more information on how your stop could be impacted when service resumes.
    • Wind: If materials in carts are not bagged, excessive wind may create wind-blown litter. For safety and time constraints, the drivers are not able to get out at every stop to clean up. (If you bag your recycling, please use clear/transparent plastic bags.)
    • Knocked over carts: Drivers are not able to collect carts that are knocked over before arrival and cannot get out at every stop to upright them due to time constraints and safety concerns (for both our drivers and other drivers on the road). If you happen to be home and you see your cart has been tipped over, please set the carts upright if you're able to prior to our arrival so they can be serviced. Please do not place your carts on top of snowbanks. If you need extra bags picked up on our next collection day as a result, please contact us at 608-257-4285.
    • Inaccessible roads: Oftentimes, there are roads that are inaccessible during inclement weather. Especially alley-ways/carriage lanes. Please remember that trash/recycling trucks do not operate the same way smaller vehicles do and they need to stop/start frequently.
    • Safety: The safety of our drivers and the community is top priority. Thank you for your understanding!
    • Cart Placement: Please keep carts 4 feet away from each other and any other obstructions to prevent them from being tipped over during service, or not serviced at all. Please do not place carts on snowbanks or in the road, as it impedes the plows and carts may be knocked over prior to service. Drivers cannot get out at every home to upright the carts due to time and safety concerns.
    • Different timing:  Pickup times may be different than residents are used to, either earlier or later. We recommend carts be out by 6:00 a.m. or the night before every week, as other factors can affect pickup time even when there's not inclement weather.
    • Commercial front load pickup: Please contact our office directly with questions about your service at info@pellitteri.com or 608-257-4285.
